Immersive Ireland

Immersive Ireland Training & Production Limited is a company working where storytelling meets emerging technology. We do two things: we train the next generation of screen and immersive creators, and we make immersive work of our own.

At Immersive Ireland, we believe new tools are only as meaningful as the stories and communities they serve. Our work draws on socially engaged art, research and industry practice. We care about place, about who gets access to new technology, and about building a creative sector that is skilled, curious and inclusive.

Training

For the past five years we’ve designed and delivered advanced media production training across Ireland and the UK. Our programmes are World Building Lab, Story X, Futureproof, Purple XR and Immersive Wexford. They bring practitioners together with leading international artists, technologists and VFX professionals through masterclasses, webinars and hands-on Field Labs.

Our labs take place on location and in studios. Recent ones include Clermont Screen Hub, the Ulster Folk Museum and E3 Studios in Belfast. They cover virtual production, volumetric and spatial capture, real-time engines and AI-assisted workflows. Participants come from across the island and beyond, and they leave with practical skills, new networks and a clearer sense of where their practice can go.

Production

Our own work tests the ideas we deliver training on. Under the name CURTIN // KEATING, we develop immersive and screen projects that push into new forms. These include Sit Stand Smoke and AT THE EDGE OF US / TERRAIN, a free-roaming XR experience exploring xenophobia and mob psychology. TERRAIN uses 4D Gaussian splatting, holography and spatial capture, and is developed through research partnerships with studios and educational institutions.

Exhibition

We have exhibited and onboarded immersive work in galleries, festivals, educational institutions and symposiums internationally, including our own VR productions and projects by other artists and studios. We know what it takes to present this work well, from planning the space and installing the technology to guiding audiences through their first steps into VR.

With our European distribution partner, who has experience bringing VR into libraries and civic spaces, we also take immersive work beyond the festival circuit to the places where communities already gather.
